We also went to the Coastal Redwoods and stayed at Humbolt State Park and visited many of the groves in the area. On a warm day, it was quite chilly under trees and we remarked that some places we were standing in probably hadn't seen the sun for centuries.

I tried to get a picture of the ferns where the light danced from spot to spot making us feel as though we were in a magical forest--well, we were. I couldn't capture it, though--it's one of those things that has to be experienced in person.

On my solo trip I wanted to take my daughter through Avenue of the Giants-we touched on it, but not really enough to give her an idea of what it's really like--time constraints got in our way.

Anyone in the vicinity should do the entire Avenue of the Giants. It's well worth it. Thank you, again, for your post.hobopalshttp://travelswithmrnimble.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
