DeBary, FL.
29 deg. clear, no wind.
Forecast = Mostly sunny with patchy frost. Highs around 64°F. East northeast wind 5 to 14 MPH.
I don't care what the temperature is where you're at. It may be -20 where you are at, but I'm down here in Florida and it's supposed to be WARM!!!
As forecasted, it never got out of the 50's yesterday, and by 7:00 or so, it was already down into the 30's!!!
Way too cold!!!!!
Linda finished the bedroom curtains yesterday while Jim fabricated some short rods for the door and the little window along side of the door. He also put more "stuff" away that they took over there.
Now, if I can get Jim to take some pictures of all of those curtains that they have put up in the house, I'll post them here.
I'm going to end this post for now. If this weather ever warms up, I'll post some more. : (
Did you know that in February of 1899 it got down to -2 in Tallahassee, FL?

Starting To Make The Bedroom Curtains
DeBary, FL.
36 deg. clear, N. wind @ 10 mph.
Forecast = Today: Sunny. Highs around 55°F. North northwest wind 8 to 16 MPH, gusting to 22 MPH.
Tonight: Clear. Lows around 36°F. North northeast wind 2 to 7 MPH.
Jim and Linda took CLT and headed over to the house yesterday morning. Being that every time that they go over there, they always want to take something that needs to be moved, they decided to take some extra clothes out of my closet.
When they got over there, Linda started making the bedroom curtains and Jim put the clothes in the closets. After that was done, Jim went out to the shed and proceeded to re-organize some of the items on the shelves and the bench. After finishing that project, he came inside and straightened up the Florida room and the kitchen.
Linda was making good progress on the curtains, so Jim sat down in his Barcalounger and fell asleep!! : ) By the time he woke up, Linda had finished the curtains for one window, so Jim helped her put them up.
It was about 3:00 by this time, so they headed back here.
Did you know that the first town to sponsor a public celebration of George Washington’s birthday was Richmond Virginia? (Even before he was president).

The Weather and A Trip To Daytona Beach
DeBary, FL.
50 deg. clear, NW wind @ 5 mph.
Forecast = Today: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs around 66°F. West northwest wind 7 to 25 MPH, gusting to 36 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 20%.
Tonight: Mostly clear with isolated showers. Lows around 36°F. Wind chill around 26°F. West northwest wind 13 to 20 MPH, gusting to 28 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 20%.
You may notice that the weather forecast above includes the weather for tonight. The reason for that, is that today the temperatures down here in Florida are supposed to drop like a rock!!! Plus, the winds are going to pick up a lot!!! If the forecasters on TV are correct, the temperature will get all the way down into the 20's tonight, but I really doubt it as long as the wind blows like they're forecasting.
In any case, it's going to feel really cold tonight. Something we really haven't had much of all winter.
Oh, and by the way, tomorrow's highs are only supposed to get up into the mid 50's, with 15 to 20 mph winds!!!!
Brrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday, Jim and Linda took a few more boxes of "stuff" out of the inside of me to the house. While they were there, they hung a few more curtains in the bathrooms. They also stopped at the manager's office and filled out another paper. Nancy also gave them little credit card like things that they'll need to operate the gate at the entrance of the community. So far, they haven't needed the card because there was a problem with the gate, but now the gate is being repaired and if they go over there in the evening, they'll need the card to get in.
Yesterday, CLT took Jim and Linda over to Daytona Beach where they went to some furniture stores to look for a new bed for the house. Since Linda was a girl, she has always wanted a "poster" bed and she's been thinking that this will probably be the last chance she'll ever have to own one. So, , , , , they searched the stores over there and she finally found one that she likes.

I saw a picture of it in a brochure that they brought back with them, and it the post on the headboard and footboard are quite thin and very tall. In fact, I'm thinking that those posts will go almost all the way up to the ceiling in that double wide.
Of course there had to be a little "glitch" in all of this. You see, this bed has to be ordered and will not be available for delivery until the 15th of March!!! As you know, we'll be leaving here on the 7th, so this causes a problem. Well, Jim and Linda thought about it for awhile and finally decided that by the end of the month, one way or another, they'd get back here to accept the delivery, or possibly Laura or Lindsey could come and let the delivery men into the house.
So, the delivery date was set for the 29 of March, and one way or another, someone will be there.
Today, I think Linda wants to go over to the house and get started on making those bedroom curtains, so they'll probably spend quite a bit of time over there. While she's making the curtains, Jim will probably be unpacking some of the boxes of "stuff" that they've taken over there.
Did you know that In 1968, congress (Legislation # 15951) passed a bill that changed several federal holidays, in order for them to fall on a Monday, thus creating a 3-day weekend? The act took affect 3 years later in 1971.

Happy Valentines Day and Curtains
DeBary, FL.
62 deg. cloudy, no wind.
Forecast = Mostly cloudy with scattered showers. Highs around 68°F. North northeast wind to 9 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 45%. Precipitation amounts up to one quarter inch possible.
Happy Valentines Day!!!!
Be sure to give that loved one in your life a big hug today!!!
Jim and Linda went over to the house yesterday morning and got the curtains up up in the living room. Of course, this wasn't just a simple matter of putting them up on the existing rods. Some of the rods were in bad shape and had to be replaced, and all of them had to be re positioned to accommodate the the new curtains, so it took quite awhile.
After the curtains were up, the furniture was put back where it belonged.
By this time, both Jim and Linda were worn out, so they relaxed for awhile in their new living room before coming back here. ; )
Linda says that she's very pleased with the way the house is looking inside and says that she knows she'll be very comfortable there. Jim also really likes the home and is looking forward to getting back to doing some small "woodworking" projects out in the shed during the winter months.
On the way back here, they stopped at Winn Dixie and picked up a few groceries. Then, for dinner, Linda made some tacos.
I don't have any idea what's happening today. I suppose Jim and Linda will take some more "stuff" over to the house and I know that Linda wants to get going on making those bedroom curtains.
Oh well, whatever they do, it probably won't effect me much. I'll just stay here and watch all the people coming and going. : )
Did you know that California produces 60 percent of American roses, but the vast number sold on Valentine's Day in the United States are imported, mostly from South America?

A Rough Day and Laura And Lindsey Come Through Again
DeBary, FL.
69 deg. mostly cloudy, SW wind @ 8 mph.
Forecast = Mostly cloudy with isolated showers. Highs around 82°F. South southwest wind 13 to 19 MPH, gusting to 28 MPH. Chance of precipitation near 50%. Precipitation amounts less than one tenth of an inch possible.
Yesterday was kind of a rough day for Jim. It started out with he and Linda going to Winn Dixie to rent a "Rug Doctor" machine and taking it over to the house. Not too long after they got there, Laura and Lindsey arrived to help.
Again, Laura and Lindsey saved the day!! They were great!! Lindsey helped Jim move the furniture and Laura did most of the rug cleaning!! Even with all that help, Jim's back was bothering him quite a bit by the time they were done cleaning the carpet. : (
By about 1:00 or so, all the carpets were cleaned and Laura and Lindsey headed back home. Jim and Linda stuck around for awhile while a couple floor fans and 3 ceiling fans dried the carpet. Once they were mostly dry, Jim and Linda took the rug machine back to Winn Dixie and then headed back here to rest.
After returning here, Jim sat and relaxed for awhile and then took a nap. He must have been really tired because he slept for almost 2 hours!!!! : O
After his nap, his back seemed to be feeling quite a bit better. : )
For dinner Linda made a delicious ham casserole and heated up some rolls that they had brought home from the restaurant. Then, they both watched TV, read and fooled around with the computers until bedtime.
Today, the plan is to head back to the house and work on putting up some of those curtains that Linda bought. Once that's done, most of the furniture can be moved back to where it belongs.
Both Jim and Linda again want Laura and Lindsey to know how much they appreciate all the help. Without them, all of this would have been much more difficult.
Thanks!!!!!
A Point to Ponder : Even when you have pains, you don't have to be one.
