H.E.B, Home Depot and Getting Ready

As soon as Linda was up and had her breakfast, she and Jim took CLT and headed out to get some groceries. Because of previous trips to and though Texas, they knew about and wanted to go to an H.E.B grocery store. In the past, they really liked the stores and weren't disappointed on this shopping trip.   : )

There's an H.E.B store here in Boerne, but construction crews have a portion of the parking lot closed off so finding a place to park is a nightmare. So,  ,  ,  ,  , they headed to another H.E B store about 8 miles East of here.

The shopping went well, and by a little after noon they were back here, carrying groceries inside of me and putting them away.

I don't think I told you, but the other day, an electric space heater that Jim and Linda use inside of me, (instead of my furnace when the weather isn't too cold), died. Jim had originally found the heater setting along side of a dumpster down in Florida about 5 years ago, and after some cleaning, it has worked well for all these years.

Anyway, it died the other morning and so after he relaxed a little, he took CLT and headed to Home Depot to see if they had any left. Well, they only had a few models left, but one of them was just what he was looking for, so he bought it and brought it back here.  

It's one of those tower heaters, (like the old one was), and it seems to be doing a fine job. It's 48 degrees outside right now and 73 degrees inside of me, and my furnace hasn't run all night. : )

Linda did a load of laundry yesterday afternoon and after the washer was done, Jim went out and drained my tanks and put away all my hoses. Then he checked my tires and fluid levels to make sure I'm ready to leave here this morning.

I don't think we'll be traveling very far today. West of here, the RV parks are kind of scarce, so it's either have a short travel day, or have a long travel day. Well, being that we're not in a hurry and Jim and Linda really don't like long travel days very much, the shorter one was chosen. ; )

Don't know if I'll have Internet at this next park so you may not hear from me for a day or so. But, don't worry, I'll get you caught up on my wanderings as soon as I can.  ; )

Fat Tuesday and Getting Ready

The day started out with Jim and Linda getting me ready to travel. Linda did a load of laundry and started to put "stuff" away and Jim did some of the same before going outside to checked my tires and fluid levels. Then, after the laundry was done, he added a little water to my fresh water tank, dumped my black and gray water tanks and put all the hoses away.

About 4:45 they headed over to the clubhouse for the last of the Mardi Gras celebrations. Yesterday was what they call "Fat Tuesday", and its the last day to party and eat before Lent begins.

The festivities started with the arrival of the King and Queen. After they paraded around in the clubhouse, the excellent evening meal was served. It consisted of meat loaf, mashed potatoes w/gravy, green beans, salad and drinks. There were also skits, costume contests, and music from a band to fill out the evening.

Jim and Linda said that it seemed like a good time was had by all. : )

If you ever get a chance to get down in this area in February, try to time it so you'll be here for Mardi Gras. There's something going on almost every day in the area, it's a fun time and you can party and eat as much as you like. Both Jim and Linda are glad that they extended our time here to experience it. : )

Today we'll be leaving the Plantation, but we'll be back. It would have been nice if Jim and Linda would have been able to spend more time with Darrell and Judy, but being that it was such a busy time here at the park, that just didn't happen. : (  Hopefully, we'll meet up with them again soon.

Since we'll be traveling, I have no idea if I'll be able to post on this blog every day or not. If you don't hear from me for a day or so, don't worry, I'll catch you up on my wanderings as soon as possible.

Did you know that the last Tuesday before Lent developed a variety of different traditions depending on what country one was living in?

The one commonality was that all these traditions were indulgent! In English, for example, a feast of pancakes was served. In France, Mardi Gras -- meaning "Fat Tuesday" -- was especially indulgent, reminiscent of ancient Roman times.

I'm Worried, Problems and A Few Pictures

Oh! No!!!!! I'm worried!!!!!! Yesterday I was wondering if anything important would happen for me to write about, and now I wish there wasn't!!!  : (

 First of all, there's a problem with my main awning!! You can put it out but when you want to retract it, it stops and you have to wait for awhile before you can retract it some more and then it stops again!!! Second, my Aqua Hot furnace has developed an anti-freeze leak. Third, when Jim went to dump my tanks, he took off the sewer cap and got a handful of sewage water, and then when he went to flush the black water tank, water squirted all over the place!!!! Then, to top it off, Jim fell down my entry steps!!!! I don't think he hurt himself too bad, (mostly his left leg), but I think he's going to be sore this morning. : ( 

What I'm worried about is that if I'm having these problems and I already caused Jim to get hurt, will they want to keep me? I heard Jim talking to Steve, (the foreman at R & S where they bought me), on the phone and they're taking me back there tomorrow.

I'll bet Myrddin is still there and they just might put all their belongings back in him and leave me there!!!! Then what would I do? Once an RV gets "tagged" as a "lemon" or a "bad luck RV", they just set on the dealers lots for years and years until the dealer finally sells them as junk!!!!

I know!! I've seen it happen!!!!

Oh, No, What am I going to do???????

I was going to show you a few pictures of me that Jim had taken, but now I don't know if I should or not. But, I guess I might as well. : (

This second picture shows my 2 slides on my left side. The front one has the couch, stove and sink it it, so it's pretty big and extends about 18"  The rear slide has the head of the bed in it, and extends about 24"

Jim and Linda have both been working on organizing their things. Linda spent most of the afternoon yesterday going through old papers and documents and Jim worked some more on the things in my basement. Then for dinner they went to Monical's Pizza.
I sure hope today goes better than yesterday, I"m not getting off to a very good start. : (
