Been Doing Some Calculating

Yesterday, I said that I'd be traveling quite a few more miles yet this year. Well, that got me thinking about how much and where I've traveled since Jim and Linda purchased me here in Illinois last summer.

So, I've done come calculating!!!

By my count, in the last 13 months, we've been to 26 states, (9 of them twice), and traveled 11,313 miles!!!!!

Wow!!!! No wonder I'm enjoying these couple months of relaxing here in Rantoul!!!!

Not a whole lot to report for yesterday. Jim must have felt ambitious because he went through some shelves in my bedroom closet and threw some stuff away. Then he reorganized the rest of it to make more room. A little later, he went outside and completely emptied one of my basement compartments and repacked it, incorporating some items that CLT had in the back of him.

Linda finished up her latest embroidery project and  worked on her Family Tree program. Then for dinner she put together a nice meal of meatloaf, sweet corn and potato salad.

Around dinner time we had some light showers come through the area. I understand that there was some severe weather near here, with some damage, but all we had was a little rain and some distant thunder.

A Little Work, A Little Rain and A Little Visit

Forecast = Partly sunny in the morning then becoming mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. North winds 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.


It was sunny most of the morning here in DeBary yesterday, but in the afternoon, it started clouding up and then we had some rain later in the day.

Jim spent some of the day straightening up CLT's pick-up truck bed. After almost 2 months, everything in there had gotten scrambled around. That was OK, but now, there has to be room to put Jim's bicycle in there before we leave, so they had to be put back where they belonged.

While he was doing that, Linda was reading, watching some TV and working on a new embroidery project.

Like I said, in the afternoon it started to rain, so Jim took a little nap and did some reading too. Then, about 4:30, Laura stopped by to say "hi". She had been out to lunch with a friend of hers that she hadn't seen for quite awhile.

It sounded like she had a good time visiting and catching up on what her friend had been doing lately. : )

For dinner, Linda heated up a couple TV dinners and made some biscuits to have with them. Then, as usual, the evening was spent watching TV and reading.

Back On The Road

Callahan, FL.

Forecast = Mostly cloudy with slight chance of showers in the morning...then partly cloudy with slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.


It took Jim  a little longer than usual to get CLT hooked to the back of me. He had to make sure that the air hose from my brake system was routed so that it didn't get hung up on anything while I made turns or went through dips or over humps. Then, there was also the little cable from the break-a-way switch that had to be attached to the back of me and needed to be routed also.

Even with the extra time spent doing all of that, we still pulled out of the parking lot at Creative Coach a little before 9:00. : )

After returning to I-4, we headed back towards Tampa where we turned North on I-75 and retraced our route back up to Ocala. Just North of Ocala, we turned East on Rt 326 and took it for a few miles until we came to US 301 where we turned back North. 301 then brought us all the way up here to Kelly's Countryside RV Park, which is a few miles North of Callahan and right on US 301.

I had never been to this park before, but I can sure see why Jim and Linda like it so much. The folks here are very friendly, they have sites of all sizes to accommodate just about any size RV, and if you're just staying over night or for a few days, they even have some pull-through sites so you don't even have to unhook if you don't want to.

For Jim and Linda it was a pretty long travel day. It was 1:20 when we pulled into the RV Park, so we were on the road for 4 hours and 25 minutes and covered 232 miles.

Jim and Linda both felt that they needed a couple days to just kick back, do laundry and reorganize some of the things inside of me that needed to be moved for repairs. So, when Jim registered me, he payed for 3 nights. : )  That's just fine with me. It was pretty nerve wracking at the repair place, having to always be ready to be worked on at few minutes notice, and then at times, worrying about what they were going to find as they made the repairs.

Yep, I think 3 nights here in a nice quiet RV Park will be just fine. ; )

A Point to Ponder : If anything is possible, then is it possible that nothing is possible?

Linda has been busy rearranging some of the cabinets inside of me. There were a lot of items that just were stuffed into them so that we could leave R & S. Actually, even though all those items were moved and packed away in just a couple days, it's wasn't really too bad.

Jim has been working on doing basically the same thing to my basement compartments. It was really muggy outside yesterday though, so he didn't stay at it for too long.

I've had 3 visitors here at the park already. First I met Paul and Louise, (the people who manage this CG), and then I met Mark, (Paul's son), who lives in this area. They all seemed to like me and congratulated Jim and Linda on their purchase.

I know some of you are wanting to know more about me. I'll be telling you more as time passes, but right now, I'm just trying to get settled and learn about this posting thing.

I'm going to quit for now. Hopefully I'll have something more important to write about tomorrow.

Oh, I almost forgot!! Myrddin told me that many of his readers enjoyed the "Did You Know" and "Point to Ponder" that he put at the end of his blog, so I'm going to try to continue it here.
