Not a whole lot to write about this morning. Jim and Linda have been busy getting me ready to travel. It normally won't be that big of a deal to get me ready, but this time since they have been putting all of their belongings in them, every cabinet, drawer and bay has to be gone through to make sure everything is secure so that things won't come tumbling out of them while were traveling down the road.
They also took CLT and went to the grocery store yesterday, and bought a bunch of stuff to take to the reunion so that they wouldn't have to go to the store as soon as we get to the Dells. And, Linda says that she thinks the prices are higher up there than they are here too.
I don't think we'll be leaving here very early today, we've got a short way to go and a long time to get there. Jim called the park where we'll be staying to make sure they had a spot for me tonight and the lady he talked to made it very clear that check-in time was 1:00 PM. So . . . . being that it's only about 130 miles up there, we probably won't leave here until 11:00 or so.
I'm sure looking forward to getting back out on the road again. Except for going back and forth between here and R & S, (about 20 or 25 miles each way), I haven't been actually out on the road on a trip for a very long time. And, I don't ever remember being up in Wisconsin, so it should be a real interesting trip.
Did you know that on this day in 1933, Major League Baseball’s first All-Star Game took place at Chicago’s Comiskey Park? The brainchild of a determined sports editor, the event was designed to bolster the sport and improve its reputation during the darkest years of the Great Depression.
Have a safe trip and take care of J & L
