Being that it was only about 100 miles to the CG that Jim had selected to stay at, we didn't leave the Tower CG in Sioux Falls until 10:40. From the CG we got onto I-29 and headed South, down into Iowa and here to the On-Ur-Wa RV Park in Onowa.
As we were coming through Sioux City, there was lots of construction on I-29 and lots of flooding from the Missouri River in the area. In fact at this CG they had some flooding earlier in the year and some of the largest RV sites at the rear of the CG are still too soft to use. I also understand that, due to flooding, I-29 is closed South of Council Bluffs, but we won't be going that far South.
It was 12:40 when we pulled into the CG so it took us exactly 2 hours to travel the 117 miles down here.
The On-Ur-Wa RV Park seems quite nice. The couple running the CG are supper nice, lead you to your site and make sure you're positioned properly. The Park is small but the sites are fairly large and if it wouldn't be for the wet conditions at the back of the park there would be some sites that would accommodate large rigs without unhooking.
Today is supposed to be a little cooler than yesterday. We had high temps in the mid 90's again yesterday but the forecast for today is for temps in the mid 80's. The humidity has also been really high so that makes it feel even warmer.
Did you know that Quaker Oats, in Cedar Rapids, IA, is the largest cereal company in the world?
