It's Always Hard To Leave Family

Moncure, NC.

39 deg. 37 deg. partly cloudy, no wind.

Forecast = Mostly sunny this morning...then mostly cloudy with a chance of rain this afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. East winds around 5 mph.

It's always hard to leave family.

Jim and Linda went over to Mike and Gina's about 2:30 yesterday afternoon and spent the rest of the afternoon with them. They did a lot of talking about what plans everyone had for the next year and just enjoyed each other's company.

Then, a little after 5:00 they all went over to a Carrabba's Restaurant where everyone enjoyed very nice meals. They hung around there for awhile and talked, but eventually it was time to say goodbye. : (

As most of you know, this part of visiting with family is not the part you enjoy. In fact, it's downright hard sometimes.

This time, Savanna didn't want Jim go and just kept hugging him and wouldn't let go. It was really sweet, but it sure made leaving hard.

After they got back here, Jim and Linda put some stuff away and then watched some of the football game on TV before heading to bed.

Today, the plan is to leave here sometime between 9:00 and 9:30 and head to Virginia Beach. It should be about a 5 hour drive over there, (which is longer than Jim and Linda usually like to travel), but it seemed kind of like a waste to stop at one of the few expensive campgrounds along the way.

Did you know that turnips and beets served as the original jack-o-lanterns?

Happy Halloween!!!!!! ; )

  1. Yep, definitely the toughest part of full-time RV living is saying good-bye. I feel your pain!

  2. I totally agree. So far the only bad part of this life is always saying good-bye, to family and new friends.
